With a love for the sea and all things salty, how could we resist the opportunity to design the new branding for Freycinet Marine Farm!

Situated in the pristine eastern coastline of Tasmania, Freycinet Marine Farm, is an internationally-acclaimed purveyor of oysters, mussels, crayfish and salmon. Recently, the business has expanded into food production – so the time was right to update their visual identity.

Design
Our aim was to create a brand which is sophisticated, tasteful (pardon the pun!) whilst still acknowledging the authentic ‘grass-roots’ approach of this family-owned business.

Adding culinary class
For the business cards, we introduced a metallic foil embellishment to highlight the prestige qualities of Freycinet Marine Farm and their produce.

We have learnt that embellishments of any kind (foil, emboss, specialty stocks) hold particular appeal and status when presenting a business to Asian markets. As this is a growing market for FMF we saw it as a definite benefit.

The ‘Fishers’ Product Range
The addition of smoked oyster pate and pickled mussels and smoked salmon to the FMF product range required Salt to also design and print adhesive labels.

We were very excited with this opportunity to use our new wide-format digital printer for the initial production runs. Our designs were print tested on food-safe, fridge-safe adhesives. We were even able to die-cut each label to very specific shapes on our new printer!

Proof is in the pâté!
FMF was so pleased with the design, business cards and product labels. Customers have been so eager to purchase the new products that we have already printed a second run of labels. It’s so satisfying to see how design and production can come together to enhance and increase our client’s business ventures.
