Why Salt?

Salt Design’s Founder and Director, Daile Drevins, reveals how our studio got it’s name…

Salt is a flavour enhancer. It’s used in cooking to bring out other flavours. Ever wondered why salted caramel tastes so good? The sweetness of the caramel is actually intensified by the salt. In a similar way, I believe great design enhances our clients’ businesses, accentuating their appeal to their own customers.

On another level, we’re the ‘salt of the earth’. We’re a humble bunch who love what we do and love doing it well – providing great service and quality design to our clients. Lastly, on a personal level, I have loved and lived for the sea all my life.

Swimming, fishing, diving – it’s my special place. Over the past 20 years, Salt has become my other special place where I share a love for design with both my team and our clients. It’s where I have achieved business success and a sense of creative accomplishment. We are a team of dedicated, passionate designers who are truly worth our salt!
